A soft landing in a new city

A 1-month programme in Amsterdam to meet new people, make real connections, and grow your social circle.

What You’ll Get

Whether you’ve just moved to Amsterdam or have lived here for years, making new friends as an adult can feel… awkward.

The Social Season makes it easier—and actually fun.

Every month a new cohort of 30 people starts, all looking to build new friendships.

Over the course of one month, you’ll attend 8 in-person events with a rotating mix of your cohort.

No pressure. No big groups. Just a natural way to get to know like-minded people over dinner, drinks, or other activities.

How it works

You join a cohort of 30 people

Each cohort is thoughtfully composed to include a mix of backgrounds, perspectives, and walks of life.

But everyone signs up with the same intention: to meet new people and build friendships.

You attend 8 events in 4 weeks

From dinners and drinks to walks and minigolf, each meetup brings together 6 to 12 people from your cohort.

At every event the groups are shuffled to give you the chance to meet everyone.

The dates and times of each event are shared one week before the starting date. Exact locations and who you are meeting is shared 1 day in advance.

You end the month with the full group

At the final event your full cohort comes together to celebrate the friends you made.

After this we leave these new friendships in your own hands.

All activities are done in groups and we mix people from different industries and backgrounds to ensure that the focus remains on creating friendships.

For our first cohort we will not charge a fee. However, you will incur costs with what you spend on the dinner, drinks and activities.

In the future we will charge a fee that will cover the planning and facilitation of events. Details about the cost and what’s included are provided during the sign-up process.

The meetups are a mix of social-focussed activities. The below is an example schedule:

We book affordable venues and activities to fit most budgets. Expect to spend around €100 in total.

Dinners: 2 x €25 (main course and drink) = €50

Drinks: 3 x €10 (2 beers or glasses of wine) = €30

Coffee: 1 x €5 = €5

Escape room, mini golf or other: 1 x €15 = €15

Final event: €10

Cohorts are thoughtfully assembled to ensure diversity in industries, genders, and nationalities. This approach enriches the experience by bringing together varied perspectives and backgrounds.

We understand that eight events in a month might seem intensive. However, consider it similar to the initial phase of starting university or a new job. In those early days, investing time in building your social network is crucial. Similarly, The Social Season‘s structure is designed to help you establish meaningful connections in a new city.

Each event is thoughtfully scheduled to provide consistent opportunities for interaction without overwhelming your personal and professional commitments. The variety of activities ensures that engagements remain fresh and enjoyable.

By immersing yourself in these shared experiences, you lay the foundation for lasting friendships and a supportive community in Amsterdam.

While attending all events is encouraged to maximize the experience, we understand that conflicts may arise. We strongly encourage you not to miss more than one and to please inform us in advance if you anticipate missing any events.
